Science meets fun
Building a state of the art education facility onboard an old iconic ship. Education and entertainment can be one and the same! Our passionate team believes in teaching in fun and interactive ways, to create memorable moments while gaining knowledge
PHASE 1 is complete!
In 2023 TriOceans Ltd purchased the old sugar lighter “Tui”, in Waitangi.
By partnering with TriOceans Ltd and local Hapu, our team proposes to restore the “Tui” to its historical purpose under Kelly Tarlton as an education and community space.
We are creating a new Marine Education Centre.
A careful weaving of modern science and Mātauranga Māori carried out by a diverse and experienced team will be the key to the success of the centre. With doors opening both onto the rich ecosystem of the New Bay of Islands Marine Mammal Sanctuary and the cultural hub of Waitangi the Tui will be THE destination to Experience, Learn and Share the underwater world of the Bay of Islands.
